Taking days off is necessary sometimes. I never actually write every day during NaNoWriMo either.

I’m glad you found a schedule that works for you. You’re doing great!

I had the same devilish thoughts in my head “you cant do this, this is not for you, you will never complete it….blah blah blah…” I contemplated giving up…yes on the 3rd day!!
Since I didn’t want to push myself and strip myself of the joy of writing, I took a break that evening and did not write even a word. I know NaNo means write every day, but I am following the Reverse NaNo option customized to fit my lifestyle and schedule (you know being a single and full time job!!), so I discussed with some blogging buddies, came up with an editorial for the remaining days in Nov.
I gave myself 3 break days until end of Nov – that really helps me relax – so I am not over-whelmed. I did that on the 3rd day/night. When I settled that, I almost immediately stopped feeling over-whelmed and last night I was able to write another 3-4k words. ]]>
