Gray, white, and a touch of… is that dark red? Whatever the underlines in the sidebar are. Subtle, but not downright boring.

Your header is pretty, (I’m looking at the one with the forbidding snowy mountains) but it makes me expect, I don’t know, perhaps a travel journal or a lot of landscape photographs. It’s a little odd with your tagline, because those mountains look Very Serious. (If you meant to create tension between your tagline and the photo, it worked!)

To much going on around the posts makes it more difficult to focus on the post, which should be the center of attention. I think the gray works great. And it works great with the header photo.
